Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Terrace Hotel in Edinburgh, I found myself immersed in a delightful blend of Georgian charm and modern comfort. Nestled in a peaceful corner of New Town, the hotel serves as an excellent base for exploring the city's myriad attractions, all within a pleasant walking distance. The spacious room we enjoyed—though up a few flights of stairs—was tastefully decorated and offered lovely views of the tree-lined streets, perfect for appreciating the city’s historic architecture. The high-quality breakfast definitely set a positive tone for our day of exploration, featuring hearty Scottish staples that I enjoyed thoroughly, accompanied by some delightful conversation with a friendly team member. A particular highlight was our stroll to the nearby St James Centre, where we indulged in a bit of shopping before meandering on to iconic sites like Edinburgh Castle and the National Museum of Scotland. I must say, the lack of a lift proved to be a bit of an adventure; perhaps pack light if stairs aren’t your forte! All in all, if you're seeking a tranquil retreat with easy access to the city's vibrant pulse, I'd confidently recommend the Terrace Hotel.
